Imagining Dual Presidency: Can Two Leaders Unite Democracy?

Two diplomats shaking hands in a conference room during an international summit

Explore the innovative concept of dual Presidency in this thought-provoking poem, envisioning a balanced future for democracy.

We live in a country where we have one ruler,

two parties fighting over equal losers.

How could we meet where democracy lives,

could we have two and be equal instead?

With a woman and a man, a couple in fact,

we might run into issues but that’s always a fact.

Give them equal power, hold them to their reigns,

take Donald Trump down and remove him with the middle name.

One from the left and one from the right,

maybe even a woman who would love to put up a fight.

Why do we choose Presidency this day,

he’s a tyranny who destroys democracy each day.

With two leaders in passion, equal in power

Would that work and progress our instrumental tower?

With growing rights and the fight for womenn,

split the power and break even.

If the left and the right were so separated in fact,

why could we not create a middle for less lack.

Is it too far fetched to put two in power?

We’re no longer in the past and this place looks like an empire.

Each state separated, a growing Rome, when will it crash

and blow up the worlds largest dome?

If we put down the fight and put a couple in their seats,

isn’t that democratic rather than a king in his seat?

The king rules his land, and history has it’s tell,

why not expand democracy and let two tell the tale.

Yes they will fight, but conversation is due,

instead of a debate watch who gets along to bring anew.

With this system in place the people watch the person,

not fight for a party but where they could meet two persons.

Why do we fight when we could have two in the middle,

keep our country tied together and push for the middle.
